Welcome!

We are Natasha and Rachel Lambert: sisters, sailors, and adventurers. We both thrive on the water, and thanks to our dad, Gary, Natasha's dreams of sailing are a reality. He designed and adapted a boat using his 'Sip-Puff' technology, giving her complete control of the helm and sheets using her breath despite having cerebral palsy. So far we've tackled numerous expeditions, including extensive trips around the UK and our biggest being an Atlantic crossing in 2020, which was captured in the BBC documentary "the girl who sails by breath" now on Youtube. We hope to inspire you to push your limits and show you what can be possible with determination and teamwork. Explore our site to discover more about our adventures!

Announcement

We are super excited to announce that we have officially signed up to join this year's Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC+)! This will be our second crossing, the first being back in 2020,  although this time we are doing a slightly different route, including Cape Verde. We knew as soon as we finished the first one we'd be back it was just a matter of when. Having done it before, we're coming into this with a better understanding of what to expect and so we know we have a lot of work to get done before we leave Gran Canaria in November. For example, we need to fit a new water-maker, tune the rigging and service the sail drives, which requires the boat to come out of the water and have the engines removed. We also have to get Blown Away from Prevaza, Greece to the start point. All in all it's going to be a busy summer but, after 4 years living on land,  we couldn't be more ready to get started! We'll be posting regular updates here, as well as on Instagram (@sailing.sisters) and Facebook ( Natasha Lambert ) you can also track us (Blown Away) on marine traffic.com, so follow along to see how our adventures unfold...

The latest

2025 is set to be a big year for us!

Get ready for some exciting news! We're thrilled to announce that we're planning another Atlantic crossing! This epic journey will involve sailing our beloved boat, Blown Away, all the way from Greece – its current home – to Gran Canaria in preparation for a November departure.

Before we set off, we've got our work cut out for us. There's a significant amount of maintenance to tackle, ensuring the boat is fully prepared and optimized for blue water cruising. But with every wrench turned and every task completed, we're building towards an incredible adventure.

We're beyond excited for this trip because our last Atlantic crossing was, without a doubt, the best time of our lives. The open ocean, the challenges, the stunning sunrises and sunsets – it all made for an unforgettable experience. We can't wait to create new memories and share more incredible moments on this upcoming voyage. Stay tuned for updates on our progress and the adventures that lie ahead...
